Privacy Policy

This notice explains which personal data is processed when you visit the Black Raven website, under Articles 13 and 14 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003.

What data we process and why

Browsing data

Like any website, the servers hosting this site automatically log some technical data with every request: IP address, date and time, requested page, response code, referring site and browser and operating system type (user agent).

This data is used only to run the site, keep it secure (for example to detect abuse or attacks) and fix technical problems. Legal basis: the controller’s legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). It is not used to identify you or combined with other data.

Visit statistics (Google Analytics)

Only if you consent in the cookie banner, the site uses Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Limited, to count visits and see which pages are read. It collects a random identifier stored in a cookie, the pages visited, visit duration, device and browser type and approximate location (city or country) derived from your IP address, which Google Analytics 4 does not store.

Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time from the “Cookie” link at the bottom of the page. If you reject or close the banner, Google Analytics is not loaded. Data is kept for the retention period set in the Google Analytics property, at most 14 months.

YouTube videos

Some pages show YouTube videos (Google Ireland Limited). The player, in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), loads only when you press play and only if you accepted Statistics cookies. The video preview image, however, is loaded from YouTube’s servers (i.ytimg.com), which therefore receive your IP address as with any external image.

Email

If you email us (for example at the addresses on the About page), we use your address and what you write only to reply. Legal basis: your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and our legitimate interest in replying (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep the correspondence as long as needed to handle your request.

What we don’t do

• The site has no comments, user accounts, newsletter or contact forms.
• Downloads are tallied with a plain number counter, without recording who downloads.
• The Facebook and X links are plain links: no data is sent to these networks until you open them.
• Fonts are hosted on the site itself, with no calls to external services.
• We use no profiling or advertising cookies, and we never sell or hand over your data.

Who receives the data

Data is processed by the Black Raven team members and, on our behalf, by the following providers acting as processors (Art. 28 GDPR):

• Aruba S.p.A. (Italy), site hosting: privacy policy.
• Google Ireland Limited (Ireland), Google Analytics and YouTube, only as described above: privacy policy.

Data is not disclosed to the public. There is no automated decision-making or profiling.

Transfers outside the EU

The site is hosted in Italy. Data collected by Google may be transferred to Google LLC in the United States, which participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (European Commission adequacy decision of 10 July 2023) and also relies on standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep data

• Browsing data: for the log retention period set by the hosting provider, unless needed to investigate offences or abuse.
• Statistics: at most 14 months in Google Analytics.
• Email: as long as needed to reply and handle the request.
• Your cookie choices: 6 months, after which the banner asks again.

Your rights

At any time you can ask us for access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interest (Articles 15-22 GDPR). You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out.

If you believe the processing breaks the law, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority, Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with the authority of the EU country where you live.

Changes

We may update this notice, for example if the services used by the site change. The date at the top shows the latest change.
